Assistant/Associate/Full Professor - Materials Engineering

Position Summary:
A tenure-track/tenured position at the level of Assistant, Associate or Full Professor with research expertise and proven research record in the area of materials engineering. Conduct research and teach graduate and undergraduate courses in the Department. Develop and offer new courses in Materials Engineering. The research expertise may include, among others, the areas of nanomaterials and biomaterials, electronic, optical and magnetic materials; metals, ceramics, composites and soft materials. Experimental as well as theoretical and computational expertise are welcome.
The successful candidate will have a track record of technical publications in peer-reviewed journals and presentations at recognized research forums. The successful candidate is expected to develop a sound research proposal to attract external research funding. The successful candidate will also present a vision on the effective teaching style and methods suitable for a university environment

Essential Functions:
The successful candidate will engage in scholarly research in the area of materials engineering, develop and teach new materials engineering courses, and guide graduate students in their research efforts. The successful candidate will also engage in departmental and university committees.


Additional Functions:
Serve as an active faculty member in the department, participate in department’s faculty committees and student recruitment activities.


Prerequisite Qualifications:
Earned PhD in Materials Engineering, Chemical Engineering or related field. Demonstrated record of scholarly excellence.
