Assistant/Associate/Full Professor in Robotics-Rehabilitation
The Biomedical Engineering Department at the College of Engineering of the New Jersey Institute of Technology (NJIT) invites faculty applications in the area of Robotics-Rehabilitation. The desired research expertise is in the broad area of biorobotics for biomedical applications, and may include the areas of rehabilitation engineering, orthopedic biomechanics, computational biomechanics, virtual reality, image analysis, and sensory-motor control. Experimental as well as computational expertise are welcome.
We seek highly-qualified candidates with a doctoral degree in Biomedical, Mechanical or other relevant field. The successful candidate should have a proven track record of research accomplishments, the ability to lead teams to high quality scholarly research, and stimulate faculty collaboration. He or she will have the opportunity to take a leadership role in our Center for Wearable Robots with clinical collaborations at Kessler Rehabilitation, two VA hospitals and the NJ Medical School (see, for example, http://www6.njit.edu/news/2016/2016-004.php).
1) Teach in engineering and applied science
2) Research in engineering and applied science
3) Disseminate research in reputable publications and conferences
4) Participate in professional service activities inside NJIT and professional associations
The anticipated spectrum of research expertise is over the broad area of trauma that can collaborate and benefit from other research activities in Center for Injury biomechanics, materials and medicine, Center for Wearable Robots and Brain Connectivity Center.
