Title:TT Assistant/Associate ProfessorDepartment:Bio-Medical EngineeringReports To:Chairman Dr. PfisterPosition Type:FacultyPosition Summary:The Biomedical Engineering Department at the New Jersey Institute of Technology (NJIT) invites applications for a faculty position at the rank of Assistant/Associate Professor beginning the 21-22 academic year. Research expertise should fit and benefit from our collaborative research activities within the department, the Centers of Research at NJIT and neighboring institutes including the Center for Rehabilitation Robotics: centers.njit.edu/rehabilitation and the Center for Injury Biomechanics, Materials and Medicine (centers.njit.edu/cibm3). Specialties of interest include biorobotic design and fabrication, neural engineering, neuro-rehabilitation engineering, nervous system injury and orthopedic injury, sensors and control systems, computational and experimental biomechanics, biomaterials and tissue engineering. Biomedical Engineering at NJIT is ranked #6 as the best BME program in the nation by Best College Reviews https://www.bestcollegereviews.org/top/bachelors-degrees-in-biomedical-engineering/. It offers a vibrant engineering community environment and exciting opportunities for research and education. Our department has just established a new state-of-the-art core facility for conducting a broad range of movement experiments is the ~1,900 ft2 collaborative Motion Capture Lab, including 16 Vicon cameras, a Bertec instrumented treadmill, a 16-channel electromyography system, 13 ft ceiling, and a 45 ft gantry system. Universities, research institutes and industrial facilitates in the vicinity of NJIT further increase collaboration opportunities and access to experimental equipment.
